Mine! Mine! Mine! Yeah right! Anyway, Paramount's toys, my toy box. They
can go home when their folks call. No money for me!!!!
Flirtation
Gods but I hate bridge duty during Delta shift. The rotation was
scheduled to help give some of the less experienced crew bridge time, but
Delta shift was often boring. At least she didn't have to suffer alone. She
shot a glance at Ops.
Time to stir things up. Kathryn grinned mischievously. "Ship's status
Mr. Kim?"
"All systems are normal."
Kathryn grinned. She sauntered over to him. Trailing her hand up his arm,
she leaned in beside him until her breast brushed against his arm. She chuckled
slightly as he blushed and swallowed. Leaning in, she whispered seductively
"At ease Mr. Kim, before you sprain something." The dark haired man blinked
in shock as a small hand brushed his backside. He turned to her, his voice
low. "Not here! Besides, if the Commander should find out about this, he'll
kill us both."
An amused chuckle erupted from the helm. "You've got that right, my friend.
Heaven forbid you get caught playing with the Commander's toys. Especially
while we're on duty."
Kathryn frowned. "When I want you're opinion Mr. Paris, I'll give it to you.
Besides, you're just jealous. I wouldn't play with your toys if you gave
them to me."
A calm smirk was her response. "Well now, ma'am, I didn't hear you complaining
a few years ago."
"If I remember correctly, you didn't exactly offer me a choice."
"Details, details."
A slight frown settled across her brow. A snort echoed from tactical, drawing
the crew's attention to the blond at that station. "You're a pig, Paris."
Kathryn grinned at the unexpected defense.
Yes sir, we women have to stick together. "Thanks, Wildman."
"Oh please! As if you ever needed help against that PataQu."
Kathryn grinned again, this time at the dark Klingon woman who had moved
into position by the helm.
"Besides, Helmboy here is barely competent at flying this ship, much less
sex."
Paris scowled at the young woman. "And just how would you know?" Let's just
say I've been talking to the Delaney sisters." Paris hurmphed and turned
back to the helm.
A calm voice interrupted from the science station. She focused on the dark
skinned vulcan. "I regret to inform you all that we are on duty and this
discussion is unacceptable while on the bridge." A series of groans echoed
through the crew.
"Leave it to a Vulcan to spoil our fun."
"What was that Mr. Kim?" Curious brown eyes made contact with irritated blue.
The young man shook his head in disgust. "He's always messing things up.
We can't have any fun around here. Like there is anything to do at 6 am on
this tub anyway."
General murmurs of agreement echoed through the bridge. Kathryn frowned once
again, knowing that she had started this malcontent with her earlier actions.
With a sigh, she slipped back into the command chair and began preparing
her report for Alpha shift.
"Get your reports together people, Alpha shift will be here soon." A string
of "Aye, Captain's" echoed over the bridge.
Captain Kathryn Janeway strode onto her bridge at 5 til seven, followed closely
by her first officer, and chief of security. She intently studied the crew
before her. Harry Kim was taking over for the young man at Ops. With their
heads together, they were nearly indistinguishable. Young Dare looked exactly
like his father. Glancing over at tactical, she noticed the grin Naomi Wildman
tossed at Owen Paris. A slight growl drew her attention to Belle Paris and
Lavek at science one where they were working on an experiment. She focused
in at the young woman standing at attention before her. Her eyes followed
the delicate line of her daughter's face. Long auburn hair escaped from the
loose bun at the top of her head. It was almost like looking in a mirror
with the exception of the warm brown eyes twinkling out at her. Her eyes
lingered momentarily on the tattoo that had recently been added. She smiled.
"Report."
All systems are at peak efficiency. Everything was quiet tonight, Captain."
With a nod, Janeway excused the young woman.
Chakotay smiled as he watched the Delta shift leave the bridge. He grinned
over at Kathryn. "How embarrassed do you think she'd be if she knew we had
monitored their first duty shift alone."
Kathryn grinned at him. "She'd probably laugh about it and accept full
responsibility for her actions. She takes after her father."
Chakotay grinned at her. "True, but she has her mother's temper. However,
I'm not so much worried about their conversation and flirtation on the bridge
as their behavior. I think it's time we had a talk with Dare Kim. I didn't
like that look in his eye when she touched him."
Kathryn laughed. "She's all grown up now, Chakotay, you really have no say
in it any longer. If it helps though, you have my permission to throw him
in the brig."
The crew from the Delta shift grinned as Kathryn won yet another round of
pool at Sandrine's. They were the only one's there because of the earliness
of the hour.
"Hey, Owen, why do you even bother to play her anymore, she's been beating
you at pool for years." The blond man tossed a grin at his sister. "It's
simple Belle, it's the challenge. One day I'll win and then she owes
me a kiss." The dark klingon glared at her brother. "Keep dreaming, Flyboy."
Dare glared at his best friend, his arm going possessively around the young
red head at side. "I just might have to hurt you if you do win."
Mischievous brown eyes danced merrily at the comment. She glanced around
taking in the various members of her "crew." With a slight, smile she admired
her friends. The rowdy bunch was turning into quite a team.
"Hey, Ryn! It's your shot."
With a cheeky grin at Dare, she leaned over the pool table once more.
